Well the day we've all been waiting for has come and gone, Elliot and Roy are finally married! They were married last weekend in the Portland, Oregon temple. Elliot, Cassidy, and I got to be such good friends last semester we just had to make the trek to Oregon to be there for the wedding.
(Plus, I was a bridesmaid so its not like I could just send a card)
So Cassidy, Leah (Roy's sister), and I piled into "Betty"(Cass's car) and made the 16 hour drive to Newport, Oregon. Newport is an adorable little coastal town about 3 hours outside of Portland. I love it there! Leah was an excellent tour guide and took us around to some fun tourist spots, as well as her favorite sea food restaurant.
We got to ride around in a vintage yellow Corvette which was super cool, until I stupidly burnt my leg on the wrap around exhaust pipe.
In fact, I burnt it in the same place two seperate times. Genius, I know. The guy at the fish and chips place took pity on me and gave me a ginormous bag of ice for it.
It felt good and I'm sure it helped some, but it still looks pretty nasty. This picture is a week later...burns are no fun.
The next day was the wedding day! All the bridesmaids had a sleepover the night before and we all got ready together in the hotel the next morning. We were even ready on time, believe it or not.
It was such a beautiful day. Elliot and Roy looked perfect and the temple was amazing. Here is a funny story about the burn: Elliot's uncle was the videographer for the wedding and at the temple he got tired of filming the photographer taking pictures of everyone so what did he do? Well he zoomed in on my burn. Naturally. Now Elliot's uncle asking me "oh is that a hickey??" is preserved in Buckmaster/Collett history forever.
Anyways, I love Oregon! If you haven't been to the Portland temple yet, you should go.
They were married on Friday and the reception wasn't until Saturday night so Cassidy and I spent Saturday morning exploring.
And this is Multnomah Falls which is actually just outside of Portland. Isn't it amazing? We stopped here on our way into Newport on Wednesday. It was super crowded but we got to walk up to the bridge...and it was very nice to stretch our legs after 14 hours in the car.
The last big event of the weekend, aside from the reception which was super fun, was our adventure to the Tillamook Cheese Factory. Cassidy and I were the only ones who wanted to go. I tried to talk it up to everyone else but I failed miserably... "They have huge blocks of cheese on conveyor belts!" just didn't fly. I can't imagine why.
Oregon has an absolutely ridiculous 55 mph speed limit on the highways so it took 2 hours to get there instead of 1. We had about 30 minutes before we needed to turn around and head back to get ready for the reception...which turned into 20 minutes after we got lost and had to yell out to some poor stranger for directions. Then we got there and it was Saturday! So they weren't even making cheese! I was disappointed, but it was just too hilarious of a situation to be even a tiny bit sad about it.
We had some cheese cubes and ice cream and drove back to Newport just in time for the reception. It was an outdoor event and was so fun and relaxed. The food was good, the music was good, the cake was amazing. It was a great trip! And Elli and Roy will be moving back to Provo in August :) Life is good!

Oh and I love this post! How is it that YOU have recorded my wedding day and I haven't? Hahaha! And I had no idea about the cheese factory. Hilarious!!! Can't wait for YOUR wedding!!! I love ya girl!
