The chocolate did not want to melt. I think it was broken.
I don't know why I didn't realize that the tops would be flat...blonde moment I guess.
I was putting on a brave face here. Needless to say, we did not go door to door delivering these lovely little Valentine treats.

Sarah- I call them cake balls... but I have made them countless times and here are some pointers that I have found making them so many times... I like using chocolate waffers for dipping... it is really thick but the trick is to constantly microwave the chocolate to keep it soft... also in order to not have flat tops I use Styrofoam or that green stuff they stick fake flowers in to put the sticks in and it keeps the balls right side up so they can dry in a circle shape... also I use a bowl that is little but deep so the whole ball can be covered and I use two spoons to spread it around! I hope this helps! Oh and if they fall apart... I always keep them cold for a long time! Love and miss you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alex! I will have to try again, maybe I will make green ones for St. Patricks Day :) Do you keep them cold before and after?
ReplyDeleteI just keep them cold while I am shaping them into balls and while dipping them... after they are done I usually keep them out but they are good cold too
